Devlog #3 - Play area
Hello everyone!
Last week we presented you a blockout that could have potentially been our map. We decided it was too big since our camera is at a fixed position and players would not be able to decide what pixel of the screen could be their character. Let me remind you that this is a couch co-op game. And if someone squints while staring at the TV screen, that must mean our proportions are off. (Or maybe you want to go see an optician.)
Now, you might wonder "What in the world am I looking at?". And I could say "You're looking at the future of gaming!"...
But we all know this is merely a blockout.
I'll explain you some things:
- The spheres represent the upper bodies you attach to yourself. The blue ones are regular bodies, while the yellow sphere is the holy, almighty, golden body which gives you points to win.
- The colored blocks move up and down and spews fire around. I don't recommend getting your buns burned, as you lose your upper body once you get hit.
- The bridge is just a bridge.
The prototyping phase is supposedly over now. Time to move on to the production phase!
Truly yours,
The RIM team
