Devlog #8 - BIG UPDATE! Menu, abilities and more!
Exciting news, everyone!
Last week was our final week of production and we have lots and lots to show you! First off, RIM now has a main menu so that means there is UI!
Our game was definitely in need of some UI. When we tested the game with four people, it got really chaotic and we often lost track of who our character was. Ofcourse, you can spam jump and you can easily recognize your character, but we thought it'd be a good idea to add an indicator to each robot. Another issue we had was that we didn't know when we would win. In previous builds, the game gave you your score, but you had no idea how close you were to winning the match. This is now a fixed issue! :)
Players are now also able to see the controls in-game, in case you might have forgotten!
As you may or may not have read or seen in the previous blogs, there are several upper bodies you can pick up. Each with their own unique ability. And now also with their own animation! We've also given them some effects that make them look really cool!
The arena to fight for the golden body has now gotten a lot more dangerous with the addition of our fire and arrow traps. Some tweaking is still necessary because right now, players are able to lose their body before the fire is visible. We are aware of this and are currently working on it.
Last but not least, we finally have more audio than only ambient! If you're curious what our game sounds like, feel free to download our latest build and explore them all! We're still waiting for your trick shots to be sent in!
